General Body

The General Body is chaired by the president of the Academy, and composed of fellows. It holds meetings at least twice a year. The associates may also attend the meetings but do not have the right to vote.


Duties

- Approval of policies and scientific programs of the Academy.

- Approval of the regulations of implementing the Academy’s activities.

- Appointment of eligible scientists for receiving rewards, badges, and medals, or for awarding scholarships and sabbatical leaves. The candidates are then introduced to the Presidency.

- Recommendation of three nominees to the Presidency to appoint one as the new president of the Academy.

- Selection of fellows, associates and honorary members.
