Ali Akbar Salehi: No matter how much we work for Iran, it is not enough

According to the Public Relations and Information Department of the Academy of Sciences, Dr. Ali Akbar Salehi, the new head of the Iranology Foundation and deputy head of the Academy of Sciences, in his speech, referring to the fact that he has always been familiar with and involved in the atmosphere of the Iranology Foundation and studies related to Iran, said: During the period when I was the Deputy Minister of Education of the Ministry of Science, I was fully involved in the establishment of the Iranology Foundation and in the early years, I was a member of the Board of Trustees of the Foundation along with the late Dr. Hassan Habibi.

He continued, referring to the presidency of Dr. Hassan Habibi at the Iranology Foundation, adding: Dr. Habibi's love for the homeland was a model and his heart beat smoothly for Iran. He left the Iranology Foundation as his most precious legacy, and we hope to be a good heir to it.

Continuing his speech, Dr. Salehi noted: Our beloved Iran is very vast in all dimensions, including cultural, civilizational, and geographical; Therefore, no matter how much we work for Iran, it is still not enough; therefore, I hope that we can see a wider horizon and do something worthy of a greater Iran.

The head of the Iranology Foundation emphasized that he considers serving in the Islamic Republic system a blessing and therefore considers the serious responsibility of managing the Iranology Foundation a valuable opportunity to work alongside all those who care about Iran to recognize, introduce, and elevate the national and civilizational identity of our country.

He continued: I do not consider myself the head of the foundation, but rather a small servant in facilitating and preparing the grounds for study and research in various fields of Iranology, so I ask God Almighty for success with your prayers.

In another part of his speech, Salehi said: Iran has always been the source of wisdom, art, knowledge, and wisdom, and recognizing this heritage is not only a scientific or historical duty, but also our need today and tomorrow. And that in a world where identities are challenged by distorted narratives and imagery; Therefore, our collective mission is to develop and promote a true narrative and image of our beloved homeland, Iran. In this regard, Iranology is not an individual field, but an arena that flourishes with the cooperation, empathy, and consensus of all.

The head of the Iranology Foundation said: Let us know that the secret of Iran's survival as a nation over thousands of years has been patience in the face of hardships, perseverance in interacting with each other, initiative and innovation in historical junctures, liberalism and freethinking, and avoidance of prejudice and abnormality. This is the secret of the stability of this great nation. Of course, in today's world, using various propaganda methods and modern tools, they are trying hard to kidnap the minds of our youth to distance them from their attachment to the original and pure identity of their homeland. This is where the duty of Iranologists in protecting this invasion becomes very important.

Dr. Ali Akbar Salehi added: Iran is a cradle that has nurtured culture, art, science, literature, and philosophy throughout its history and presented it to the world; therefore, I emphasize that the mission of Iranology as a scientific and cultural organization is to identify these unparalleled treasures and transfer them to future generations. Of course, with a deep look at the stunning social and cultural developments of human societies and drawing a clear picture of its prospects and explaining and determining Iran's effective position in this perspective, which is of great importance.

Ali Akbar Salehi added: The world is changing and it is important to know how to explain and define Iran's position with the changes we see in the world and to determine its position. This is a great challenge in itself, which I will try to formulate and collectively implement by forming think tanks in various fields related to Iranology research using modern technologies and by strengthening cultural diplomacy and expanding international scientific and cultural cooperation.

In the final part of his speech, the head of the Iranology Foundation said: "The Persian language is the code and symbol of our national unity and cohesion. In other words, this sweet language is like a jewel surrounded by stars related to other languages and dialects. The Persian language is a rosary that connects all spectrums. Article 15 of the Constitution emphasizes the teaching of the mother tongue, but contrary to some perceptions, this principle of the Constitution does not mean teaching and learning sciences in the mother tongue. Before Dr. Ali Akbar Salehi's speech, Dr. Mohammad Hossein Rajabi Davani, former head of the Iranology Foundation, also paid tribute to the late Dr. Habibi, founder of the Iranology Foundation, in a speech, while wishing for the acceptance of prayers and worships, and stated that he established the Iranology Foundation with his effort and love to better recognize and introduce the history, culture, and civilization of Iran and left valuable works of his own during his presidency.
