On February 24th, the Engineer’s Day, the Department of Engineering Sciences of the Academy held the honoring ceremony of the distinguished engineers of the country selected by the Academy in 2025 at the Professor Davari Ardakani Hall of the Academy. The attendees included Prof. Mohammad Reza Mokhber Dezfouli, president of the Academy; Dr. Amin Maghoomi, president of the Iran Construction Engineering Organization; Prof. Mohammad Saleh Olia, president of the National Productivity Organization of Iran; Prof. Saeed Sohrabpour, chairman of the Department of Engineering Sciences of the Academy; and other members of the Academy. Khajeh Nasir al-Din Toosi was a thinker who, in one of the most unstable periods in Iran’s history, managed to bring knowledge back from the margins of collapse into the heart of civilization. By establishing the Maragheh observatory, organizing scientific research, and writing enduring works in mathematics, astronomy, logic, and ethics, he demonstrated that scientific advancement does not depend on political stability; rather, it rests on the depth of thought and rational order. Toosi’s legacy lives not only in books, but also in the formation of a scientific tradition- one that, centuries later, continued to inspire engineers, researchers, and thinkers.
