<div></div> <div>The Division of Mechanical Engineering of the Academy held a meeting with the deans of the faculties of mechanical engineering of the country on July 10th, in the Academy’s Conference Room.</div> <div></div> <div> </div> <div></div> <div>The attendees consisted of the members of the relevant Division, the deans of the faculties of mechanical engineering and the members of the Iranian Society of Mechanical Engineers.</div> <div></div> <div>At first, Prof. Sohrabpour, chairman of the Department of Engineering Sciences of the Academy, welcomed the audience and briefly introduced the Academy. He also mentioned that the meeting aims at establishing links between the Academy of Sciences, faculties of mechanical engineering of the country and the Iranian Society of Mechanical Engineers. The meeting also considered how the Iranian universities should support the annual conference of the Iranian Society of Mechanical Engineers.</div> <div></div> <div>Then the following reports were delivered:</div> <div></div> <div>History of the Establishment of the Iranian Society of Mechanical Engineers, Prof. Mehdi Bahadori Nejad</div> <div></div> <div>Activities of the Department of Engineering Sciences of the Academy and the Iranian Society of Mechanical Engineers, Prof. Mohammad Reza Eslami</div> <div></div> <div>This was followed by Prof. Zohoor’s speech on changing the educational methods in engineering and other disciplines and the existence of opposition and obstacles to change.</div>
