<div> </div> <div></div> <div>On Wednesday, June 12th, the Division of Civil Engineering of the Department of Engineering Sciences of the Academy held a seminar on Floodwater Risk Management.</div> <div></div> <div>The attendees consisted of a number of fellows, associate fellows and invited scholars of the Academy and some authorities, experts and faculty members of the universities.</div> <div>At first, Prof. Ali Akbar Ramezanianpour, chairman of the Division, welcomed the guests and emphasized the significance of holding meetings on the subject of floodwater.</div> <div>Then, the four lectures mentioned bellow were delivered by the faculty members of the universities and members of the Department:</div> <div>- Report of the National Special Board(NSB) on Floodwater, Prof. Mahmood Nili Ahmadabadi, Director, NSB, Office of President of IR Iran</div> <div>- Environment and Natural Events, Dr. Reza Maknoon, Director, Environment Workgroup, NSB and Prof., Amirkabir University of Technology</div> <div>- Comprehensive Flood Management, Prof. Abbas Afshar, Prof., Iran University of Science and Technology</div> <div>- Insurance and Compensation for Flood Damage, Prof. Mohsen Ghafouri Ashtiani, Prof., International Institute of Earthquake Engineering and Seismology</div> <div></div> <div> </div>
