<div>On June 27th, the Division of Horticultural Sciences, Department of Agricultural Sciences of the Academy, held an expert seminar on the subject of medicinal plants.</div> <div></div> <div> </div> <div></div> <div>The seminar began with the welcoming address of Prof. Abbas Sharifi Tehrani, chairman of the Department. He stated that Iranian physicians used medicinal plants for the treatment until 60 years ago, but they have been using pharmaceuticals ever since.</div> <div></div> <div>Then, Prof. Hossein Namazi, secretary of the Academy, welcomed the audience and delivered a brief speech.</div> <div></div> <div>The seminar continued with Prof. Morteza Khosh-Khui's speech on medicinal plants. Finally, Prof. Majid Azizi, faculty member of the Ferdowsi University of Mashhad and invited scholar of the Department, delivered his lecture on "Medicinal Plants and Their Bottlenecks".</div>
